Southtown needs a grocery store to call its own

Thank you Elaine Ayo, for drawing attention to Southtown's desperate need for local grocery store in a recent Express-News article.

There are so many grocers out there; the options go way beyond HEB. In fact, the range of people in Southtown, overall, might make it a unique challenge, but surely there are chains out there that are up to it.

Mission Road Power Plant

CPS has plans to develop the Mission Road power plant. They're going to turn this 100+ year old landmark into mixed use development, with both apartments and shops. It's a very cool building. Especially inside...in fact there are huge spaces that make me think it would be an awesome museum: picture massive chambers with sharks and airplanes hanging from the ceiling.

But a mixed use would be very nice also. It'll have to do anyway.

Here's a story in the Express-News.
